Description
Schwenk internal measuring instrument for great depths, 8 – 12 mm, 750 mm depth is a Schwenk two-point internal measuring instrument with an extended rod — featuring a long handle and probe rod that reaches into holes far beyond the working depth of a standard internal measuring instrument. The two-point measuring head is located at the far end of the probe rod, opposite the dial indicator at the operator’s end.
Schwenk’s two-point measuring principle uses two opposing contacts — a fixed reference and a spring-loaded probe — that ride against the hole wall. As the head is passed through the hole, diameter variations, ovality, taper, and ”barrelling” are displayed as dial rotation on the dial indicator at the handle. STANDARD LINE build quality, with hardened and ground rod and handle.
Usage: select a Schwenk setting ring for the nominal hole diameter, zero the dial indicator with the head seated in the ring, then pass the head through the hole. Note the dial indicator rotation at multiple positions along the length of the hole to map taper, ovality, and form. The Schwenk handle is dimensionally stable over temperature.
Common applications: hydraulic cylinder bore inspection (especially long cylinders requiring extended reach), long bearing wear control on conveyor and gearbox shafts, deep hole inspection on machine tools, oil and gas pipe bore acceptance.
